He is Risen

Many of you enjoyed my prior post of Jon McNaughton's art. I hope that you will like this painting. It portrays the moments after Jesus' Resurrection. Death could not hold Him. He paid the price for our eternal freedom with His own life Blood. 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Here is to a Happy Passover/Resurrection Season, and God bless those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

Passover and the Lunar Eclipse, AKA the Blood Moon...

Monday evening at Sunset is the beginning of Passover, the First of the yearly High Holy Feasts of the Lord in Judaism, & the oldest continuous celebration of Freedom on Earth.

Later, in the wee hours of the morning, is one of the rarest occurrences in Astronomy. Not just a full Lunar eclipse, but the first of "four" full Lunar eclipses this year & next, AKA Tetrad for four, and  Blood Moons because of how the Sun's light passes through the Earth's atmosphere, tinting the Moon's surface red.

That's all pretty cool, and I still remember my Father waking me to see a full eclipse sixty some odd years later, but that's not particularly special... however..., the fact that all four full eclipses occur, precisely on the High Holy Feasts of the Lord "IS" special! It hasn't happened very many times throughout all of history, & has always coincided with significant events in the history of Israel. If you would like to know more on that subject, go to:

Want to watch the Lunar Eclipse Tuesday am? Best viewing time will start approximately 0100 CDT, & continue to around 0530 CDT. The Moon is in Virgo, & Spica is the bright star in conjunction with the Moon. That's also pretty cool. Doesn't happen real often either. There's also Spiritual significance in Spica. Freedom

As of sunset this evening, one of the world's great religions will begin observing possibly the oldest feast to freedom that we know of, Pesach, or as is more commonly known, Passover.

For almost four thousand years the Jews of the world have been asking, "Why is this night different from all other nights?" It is the night on which they remember the joy of gaining their freedom after four hundred years of slavery to Egypt, and the sorrow of the cost of that freedom to their former masters. Freedom is never free.

Through these people, the world has been given the inestimable gifts of the concepts of freedom with responsibility, and the rule of just law rather than the rule of might. We can only say, thank you to our Jewish friends.
